Reiki Alliance Application Information

Dear Reiki Master,

Thank you for your interest in The Reiki Alliance.

The Reiki Alliance is a global community of about 700 Reiki Masters who practice and teach the Usui System of Reiki Healing.  Our purpose is to support one another as teachers and friends in the Usui System.  This task encompasses the professional as well as the personal level, since who we are as human beings is inseparable from our lives as Reiki Masters.

As members of The Reiki Alliance, we participate in a community composed of many cultures, languages, and beliefs.  What binds us together as a community is the common tenets we hold as sacred, outlined in The Reiki Alliance Membership Agreement, adopted by the community in 2004.  Please read the Statement carefully and you will find out who we are as a community, how we teach and practice the Usui System, and the way we aspire to live in the spirit of Reiki.

The work of the organization is overseen by a Board of Directors, who receives input from various working committees and members of the community.  The Board also maintains close contact with the Grandmaster of the Usui Lineage, Phyllis Furumoto and Head of the Discipline, Paul David Mitchell.  An Executive Director and office staff in the U.S. handle day-to-day operations.

At the annual conference, members experience the real heart of the community.  The conference offers opportunities to deepen our connection with Reiki energy, learn from experienced teachers, and make rich and lasting friendships with masters from around the world.  Here, major business decisions are made and participants realize the dynamic power and beauty of

Reiki Masters being together.  The Reiki Alliance newsletter is published 3 times a year and is another good forum for communication among members.

Being part of a dynamic global community of Reiki Masters with similar values is the most important benefit of being a member.  You will receive the Alliance newsletter, the opportunity to attend the annual conference of The Reiki Alliance, a listing in the Reiki Alliance membership roster, access to a worldwide support line, referrals for classes and treatments, and access to teaching materials such as student books, certificates, and other teaching supplies.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

The Reiki Alliance Membership Agreement communicates the values and expectations of The Reiki Alliance members.  Reiki Masters who apply for membership must have been initiated as a master by another Reiki Master, be able to trace their lineage to Takata, agree to abide by the Membership Agreement including the Code of Ethics, and make an effort to attend the annual conference regularly.

To apply for membership, carefully read the enclosed Membership Agreement, including the Code of Ethics.  If you are in agreement with this Statement, fill out Part I only of the enclosed application and mail it to the Reiki Alliance office.  Please fill it out completely.  If any part of the application is left blank, there will be a delay until the information is received.  The application process takes an average of 3 months to complete. 

When Part 1 of your application is received, a specially trained Membership Assistant will be assigned by the office to meet with you in person.  The Assistant’s task is to share with you their experience of Alliance membership, to answer any questions you may have, and to work with you to determine your alignment with the Membership Agreement.

After meeting with the Assistant, complete and return Part 2 of the application.  The Assistant will also send us a description of your meeting.  Your application will then be processed.  When you have been accepted, you will be billed the one time membership fee of $200.00 USD and annual dues.

New members pay an initial membership fee of $200.00 plus prorated dues at the rate of $20.83 per month.  Although our annual dues year is from 1 Jan. through 31 Dec., the dues for new members begin from the first day of the month in which they become members and ends the last day of the dues year, 31, Dec.  Members unable to afford the full cost of the membership dues may request financial assistance.  Full or partial scholarships are available for one year. To request assistance, write the international office, explaining your need.

You will receive a membership packet containing our Membership Directory, a conference brochure (when available), a product brochure, and samples of materials. You will also receive a bill with payment information. Alliance materials cannot be ordered before the application process is complete and dues/fees have been paid.
